She is really kind to everyone at our school. She has been teaching there for about 14 years now. Miss Johnson is a 7th grade Science teacher at ACYI, my school. Johnson should be nominated for teacher of the year. shes the nicest teacher and she teaches us a lot of cool stuff. Johnson is the best teacher ever she is the reason we even have a school yearbook. She is the nicest teacher ever and I don’t know what the school would do without her.] We would really appreciate it if you would award her. This is the last year we are doing a yearbook and it is also the last year she is teaching. She is the yearbook leader and has done an amazing job. I feel so bad for all of the kids who will never get to be taught by her, because she is so cool! We will all miss her so much, and we think that she should be recognized for all the great stuff she has done! Johnson will be retiring at the end if the year due to health problems. She has been absent a lot though lately, to get surgery and things like that, it has really made us miss her! We found out earlier this week though, that Ms. Johnson has been absent quite a bit due to health problems, because when she was little she got Polio and since then she hasn’t been able to walk, but she has this totally awesome electric wheelchair that she can zoom around in. 7/6/2023 0 Comments Furiously happy chaptersShe travels to Australia and hugs a koala wearing a koala suit, wear fancy ballgown suits to ordinary occasions to feel happy and to meet with people in the real world despite the painful physical ability and severe social anxiety. 7/5/2023 0 Comments Ghost story dresdenBut, from the reviews and articles I’ve read, many fans weren’t crazy about the book compared to their love for the other books. I can’t judge Ghost Story against the other books in the series because I did a dumb. The characters are fun and unique, the settings gritty and realistic, the narrative voice entertaining, and the overall story is just the right amount of twisty to keep me interested. Judging from the thin slice of the Dresden universe I enjoyed, the fans are right. It simply means I’m still kicking myself for not asking an actual Dresden fan where I should start (for those just joining us, it’s at the beginning). My ReviewĪs my first foray into the Dresden Files, Ghost Story was probably the worst possible place to start the story. Several nasty entities are rushing into position to take advantage of this opportunity and are creating chaos and havoc at every turn. To make matters worse, there is a huge power vacuum left in the world from Dresden’s actions in the previous book. To save them he has to solve his own murder. Three of the people he loves most are in danger. Even still, with all of this drastic change, he’s got a huge problem to solve and not much time to solve it. He can’t use his magic, can’t interact with the physical world, and can’t even talk to the people he needs to get information from. In Ghost Story, he is stripped of all of his usual tools needed to solve cases. Harry Dresden is Chicago’s first and only Wizard PI. 7/5/2023 0 Comments Bliss montage stories ling maLing’s fiction and nonfiction has appeared in Granta, Playboy, Vice, Chicago Reader, Ninth Letter, Buzzfeed, and more. The critic Edmund Wilson, in The Wound and the Bow, was both shocked and uncomprehending about them. The stories have elements of revenge, the macabre (dead cats), bullying, and violence and hints about sex, making them far from childish or idealized, unlike the typical school story. The city itself is the central protagonist in this historical fiction. Lutes weaves these characters’ lives into the larger fabric of a city slowly ripping apart. Berlin is one of the high-water marks of the medium: rich in its well-researched historical detail, compassionate in its character studies, and as timely as ever in its depiction of a society slowly awakening to the stranglehold of fascism.īerlin is an intricate look at the fall of the Weimar Republic through the eyes of its citizens―Marthe Müller, a young woman escaping the memory of a brother killed in World War I, Kurt Severing, an idealistic journalist losing faith in the printed word as fascism and extremism take hold the Brauns, a family torn apart by poverty and politics.
